Anmyeondo Family Trip Details
Day 1: Baeksajang Seafood Market & Dinosaur Museum
Baeksajang Port Seafood Market & Blue Crab Bridge
As soon as we entered Anmyeondo, we stopped by Baeksajang Port Seafood Market. This market is a must-visit port whenever we come to Anmyeondo or Taean. It is a great place to start your trip by grabbing a meal and soaking in the lively atmosphere. We looked around the tanks filled with fresh seafood and tasted snacks like fried shrimp with the kids. It also serves the purpose of checking current prices for purchasing seafood later.

| Blue Crab Bridge |
I also recommend walking across the crab-shaped bridge that connects Baeksajang Port and Deureuni Port. There are great photo spots everywhere, and it is nice for a light stroll.
Anmyeondo Jurassic Museum
If you have a child who loves dinosaurs, the Anmyeondo Jurassic Museum is a highly satisfying choice. With life-sized giant dinosaur skeletons and realistic moving dinosaur models, it is enough to capture children's attention. In addition to the indoor exhibition hall, there are simple experience facilities and an outdoor park, making it good for a walk after viewing the exhibits.

Island Resom
We chose Island Resom, located right in front of Kkotji Beach, as our accommodation for this trip. The biggest advantage of this place is undoubtedly its 'location'. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the room, you can see the West Sea and the 'Grandma & Grandpa Rocks' (Halmi & Halabi Rocks), the symbols of Kkotji Beach, at a glance. Especially at sunset, you can comfortably enjoy the scenery considered one of the top 3 sunsets in Korea right from your room.

The Ocean Tower room we stayed in was neatly maintained and equipped with simple kitchen facilities, making it convenient to stay with a child. Within the resort, there are various facilities such as 'Oasix Sunset Spa' where you can enjoy a warm pool all year round, a kids' cafe, convenience stores, and restaurants, so spending time only within the resort is sufficient. If you want both comfortable rest and great scenery for your Anmyeondo family trip, I think there is no place like Island Resom.

Day 2: Mudflat Experience and West Coast Sunset
The second day was planned to enjoy the West Sea, centering on Kkotji Beach right in front of the accommodation.
Kkotji Beach Mudflat Experience
In the morning, we headed to Kkotji Beach according to the tide time we checked in advance. The most important preparation for the Anmyeondo mudflat experience is checking the 'tide times'. Since the mudflat is only accessible when the water recedes (low tide), we checked the low tide time through a tide forecast website or the hotel desk and went out 1-2 hours prior. It is fun to dig in the mudflat with a hoe with your child and discover small crabs or clams. You can rent boots or tools for a fee at shops around the beach, so it's okay if you haven't prepared in advance.

Sigol Bapsang (Restaurant)
To fill our hungry stomachs after the mudflat experience, we visited Kkotgejip Sigol Bapsang near Kkotji Beach. As the name suggests, this is a specialty restaurant with a comfortable atmosphere like eating at home. They serve Gegukji (a spicy crab stew with kimchi) and Ganjang-gejang (soy sauce marinated crab). It is a good place to have a hearty and warm lunch after an active morning. Gegukji is a unique local dish enjoyed by locals in the Taean region. While my family enjoyed it, please note that it is a distinct local flavor that might be different from standard Korean spicy soups, so opinions can vary.

Kkotji Coastal Park
After lunch, we took a light walk in Kkotji Coastal Park, which is directly connected to the beach. It was a wonderful place with a pine forest path stretching along the beach and a garden decorated with various types of flowers. It is nice to relax for a while walking under the cool pine shade, and it is even more beautiful with lighting if you visit at night.

Sunset at Kkotji Beach
More important than dinner was the sunset at Kkotji Beach. As it is counted as one of the top 3 sunset spots on the West Coast, many people gather to see the scenery of the sun setting between the 'Grandma & Grandpa Rocks' at twilight. If you check the sunset time in advance and arrive about 30 minutes before the sun goes down, you can leisurely enjoy the best moment.

Dinner: Island Resom 'The Table'
After enjoying the beautiful sunset, we had dinner at 'The Table' located on the 2nd floor of the Ocean Tower in the resort. This place operates as a Shabu-shabu buffet in the evening, making it a great place for the whole family to enjoy a hearty meal without going outside the accommodation.
|
| The Table |
Two types of meat for shabu-shabu, beef and pork, are provided indefinitely, and you can bring fresh vegetables such as cabbage, bok choy, and bean sprouts, as well as mushrooms and various noodles, to your liking. Drinks and basic side dishes for children are also available. The price is KRW 39,000 (approx. $28 USD) for adults and KRW 29,000 (approx. $21 USD) for children, and preschool children can use it for free.
|
| The Table Kids Corner |
For reference, breakfast was also served with a good composition, and satisfaction was high as children's food was cooked separately with low salt.
Day 3: Unique Experiences and Wrap-up
The last day of the trip was planned with a course that can be lightly enjoyed indoors to soothe the regret of leaving, and a time for seafood shopping to wrap up the trip.
Oh My Gallery
In the morning, we visited Oh My Gallery, a trick art museum. Since it is an indoor destination that can be enjoyed regardless of the weather, there is no burden as a course for the last day. As you take pictures posing funnily in front of parody works of world-famous masterpieces, both adults and children burst into laughter. It is a great place to leave special memories with your family in photos.

Travel Break Coffee
After having a good time at the gallery, we stopped by Travel Break Coffee, a nearby cafe, to relax for a while before departing for Seoul. It is a good space to drink a cup of coffee while calmly organizing the end of the trip. We were able to take a break and look back on the trip of the past 2 nights and 3 days.

Baeksajang Port Seafood Market
The very last course of the trip is Baeksajang Port Seafood Market, which we visited on the first day. We visited again to buy fresh seafood to take home based on the market prices we checked on the first day. Buying seasonal blue crabs, prawns, or semi-dried fish has become like a final routine of our Anmyeondo trip. Especially, semi-dried fish is popular as a side dish for rice because it tastes good.

This concludes our 2-night, 3-day Anmyeondo family trip. The dinosaur museum and mudflat experience gave the child a special experience, and the beautiful sunset at Kkotji Beach provided a romantic rest for the adults. Fresh seafood and delicious local food further increased satisfaction with the trip. Anmyeondo is definitely a family travel destination that can satisfy all generations. If you are planning a family trip to Anmyeondo, I hope this itinerary helps you create your own trip.
