Hiking the New Yeongdeok Blue Road: Complete Guide to Courses & Stamp Tour
The Yeongdeok Blue Road is a representative trekking course that specializes in the Yeongdeok section (Courses 19-23) of Haeparang-gil (Sunrising East Coast Trail), a walking trail along Korea's East Coast. Many hikers may remember the existing Courses A~D, but the trail has been completely revamped into 8 courses and 9 stamp spots as of February 2025.
In this post, based on the latest information, I will provide a detailed summary of the newly changed Yeongdeok Blue Road 8 Courses, how to complete the Stamp Tour at 9 locations, and how to receive the completion souvenir (medal).

How to Join the Yeongdeok Blue Road Stamp Tour (8 Courses, 9 Spots)
The renewed Yeongdeok Blue Road Stamp Tour involves verifying your visit at 9 designated locations. There are two main ways to participate: using a physical Stamp Book or the mobile Walkon App.
Participation Methods (Stamp Book vs. Walkon App)
Stamp Book (Recommended for Travelers)
This is the most classic method. You pick up a paper stamp book at designated distribution centers and stamp it yourself at the 9 stamp boxes along the trail.
Where to get the Stamp Book:- Available for free at Yeongdeok County Office, Yeongdeok Tourist Information Center, Yeongdeok Expressway Toll Gate, and 9 Eup/Myeon offices.
- Online Application: You can also apply for the stamp book and promotional materials (free shipping within Korea) on the Blue Road Website.

Walkon App (Mobile)
This is a convenient method using a smartphone. Install the 'Walkon' app and participate in the 'Yeongdeok Blue Road Stamp Tour' challenge. Authentication occurs via GPS when you arrive at the stamp box location.

| Walkon App installation and execution screen |
From my experience, using the Walkon app was convenient because I didn't have to carry a separate stamp book. However, since it relies on GPS, managing your smartphone battery during the trek is crucial. It is highly recommended to bring a power bank.

Here are the 9 stamp locations, newly changed according to the 2025 8-course system. The stamp boxes are numbered 'Blue Road Course 1', 'Blue Road Course 2', etc. Please refer to the address and detailed location in the table below during your tour.

Tips for Choosing a Course
- From my personal experience, completing the entire course (about 75km) at once is not easy. If you are aiming for the stamp tour, it is better to plan a 2-3 day itinerary centered around the 9 stamp locations.
- If you want a light walk, I recommend Course 5 (Beach Camping, 4.6km) or Course 8 (Blue Ending, 6.0km) for a relaxing stroll.
- I highly recommend including the Sunrise Park (Changpomal Lighthouse, Stamp Spot #4) and Ganggu Port (Stamp Spot #3) in your itinerary, as they boast some of the best scenery in Yeongdeok.
